Martin and Allen
It being Wednesday
it meant that Allen would be bowling and then afterwards we would go
for lunch. I had gotten 4-5 $25 off coupons on the Internet for the Bove Prime a new restaurant on Los Olas Boulevard which is upscale as is the restaurant.
Today
was the last day to use the last coupon I had so we decided to go
there. The restaurant is on 2 levels and mainly in black and white with
the current rage of square dishes which are all white as are the
tables, chairs and curtains.
We
started off with 4 thick slices of 2 different types of complimentary
bread served with 2 different spreads with Allen ordering a diet soda
while I had a cup of real coffee.
For our main courses we decided to share a plate of steak with risotto and a plate short ribs with rigatoni and broccoli rabe. As most of their dishes these were excellent.
We
have only had dessert here once before and hadn't been too impressed
but decided to share a 'Fire and Ice'--which was a warm circle of
chocolate cake filled with a chocolate pudding and a side of vanilla
ice cream and a side of mocha mouse. There was a long thin, round stick
of chocolate and a chip of what tasted like peppermint. The cake was
very dry and, consequently, the dessert was a disappointment.
The
check, with tip, came to $61, which if I hadn't the $25 coupon and a
$10 gift card, would been too high a price for lunch. Oh well, back to
the real (bargain, lower priced) world of lunch next week! LOL
