1) Go to early birds
2) Order water as my beverage at a meal
3) Use a coupon
These were all signs of cheap people, lousy tippers and/or senior citizens.
NEVER SAY NEVER!!! LOL
I LOVE eating out and living on a fixed income and prices in restuarants,
like everything else, going sky high I find myself doing #s 2 &
3--the only time I do #1 is if I am having a late lunch and the early
bird menu is available as it is here in a lot ofrestaurants starting at 3 or 4 PM.
I
will, sometimes, order real coffee when I am out for brunch or lunch as
that is the only time I drink coffee. I do find it silly to pay $2-3
for a drink that only costs 25 cents.
I am
a big restaurant coupon clipper so I can eat out 4-5 times a week. I,
also, register with all chain restaurants on the Internet as they will
send big discount coupons at least once a month. I have also learned to
check out local restaurants on the Internet as many now have web pages.
They always offer a first time discount and, invariably, will send you
a coupon for your birthday and/or anniversary. Between local and chain
restaurants I had so many free dinner (and ice cream) coupons there was
no way I could use all of them.

Aside from those in the picture I have coupons for IHOP, Denny's, Big Louie's, Galuppi's,
Big Market Grill, Gold Corral just to mention a few. In case you don't
know a lot of 4-5 star restaurants also have coupons in papers and/or
on the Internet.
Coupons have
become such a way of life in restaurants that servers no longer look at
you with that "cheap" look but I still get a few of them when I just
order water!! LOL
I,
also, love to see their faces, and their tripping all over themselves
to say "Thank You" ,when they see their tip. When I have a coupon I
don't tip less than 20% on what the meal would have cost plus a few
dollars extra as I am saving money by using the coupon.
I happen to be an excellent cook and really love cooking but I love being waited on more!! And not having to clean up.
I
always look forward to Wednesdays when Allen and I go around running my
errands and then go out to eat, just as I look forward to Fridays when
we go to the movies and a bite to eat afterwards. We have eaten in the
5 star French restaurant Sage (with a $42 off coupon), many restaurants
on the beach and, yes, even once or twice at Subways, though I don't
like 'fast food' places where you have to get your order, serve
yourself and then clean up but sometimes the money is really low! :O)
Spread the word--I'm easy--all you have to do is take me out for dinner!!!
