(Yes I've been through 3 of them--so far!)
By now it is no secret that I was off the Internet for 8 days and most people know I HATE the phone. I had to come into the 21st century and get a cell phone (and give up my landline) in order to get the uber app.
I do not take the phone with me as I get annoyed with people who use them when not necessary like in movies where that phone screen can drive you crazy or use them in restaurants or cars or walking in streets or any place except the home or in businesses!
I don’t know if I have a smart phone (What’s a dumb phone?) or an Android or whatever. I do have a SAMSUNG and like it or not it I got a workout the past 8 days!
First and foremost I must say I admire people who can ‘type’ on these phones, especially those who use their thumbs!! I tried all my fingers and a stylus pen but the shortest ‘message’ I sent took me 30 minutes to get it right!! I never did learn how to ‘talk’ a text or if the phone even has a microphone!
By experimenting, and asking for help from John, I did learn how to download my email account to the phone and that in turn lead me to downloading a few web pages I go to every day. I did have problems deleting things here and there and I still am not sure—though I did—how I got to certain web sites. Consequently, when the Internet came back on, I had a lot less notifications to catch up on.
I did use the camera and, after many attempts, I was able to download the photos to my desktop. I have no idea if the phone has a flash or if I could zoom it for pictures but I did learn how to take a selfie!! I didn’t even attempt to edit the pictures until I downloaded them nor do I know how to send a picture from the camera to someone.
I never did learn how to download an app for restaurants, stores, etc.
Bottom line is that I am grateful I had the phone when my Internet connection went down but it is now regulated back to its place—at home, on my desk and to be used only for necessary phone calls in or out.
Oops, I mean old fashioned.
