Jj Cafe---a Review

Things got off to a bad start
when it took over 45 minutes to find the place as it is in an area where
the same street has different names and keeps changing with one name on
the east side of the street and the other on the west not to mention
the same going north and south but we finally found it. After we sat
down I presented the server with the restaurant.com certificate and she
said they don't accept it anymore. I am not about to give a waitress a
hard time so I asked to speak to the manager and/or owner. She responded
they were not there so we just went ahead and ordered anyway.

I really don't know the differece between a diner and a cafe --at least in Fort Lauderdale--but
in this case it seems to be the latter is u-shaped instead of
resembling a railroad dining car though it certainly serves more than
light snacks. They do have a full menu from breakfast items to Greek
specialties but we went the Jewish deli route. LOL.

Allen ordered a pastrami
sandwich ($6.95) and iced tea ($I.50) while I went for a combo pastrami
and corned beef sandwich (6.95) and coffee ($1.50) . The plates came
with a small cole slaw and, a slice of pickle, definitely not the deli
kind, and we decided to share an order of fries ($2.50). The sandwiches
were served hot and had plenty of meat, which was tasty while the fries
were run of the mill. The check with tax and tip came to $24.65.

There was nothing wrong with the
food or the service but nothing outstanding or different than hundreds
of the restaurants that were more accessible. Though it was primarily
the responsibility of restaurant.com to inform us that the JJ Cafe no longer accepted the certificate, since it was still listed on the web page they should have honored it.
