In any case I have been talking about getting a new computer tower but lack of funds kept me from actually doing it. At least I have gotten out of the habit of charging things when I don't have the money. In the past month I made a few dollars selling coins for John, won $400 on Play 4 and, of course, the stimulus so I figured it was a go--especially since I have already put money aside for the "A Chorus Line" tickets next February.

As most of you know I am a computer/Internet dummy and just need the basics to surf the Internet, write blogs, get and send e-mails, etc. I am not into fancy graphics or playing computer games. The tower I have is over 5 years old and it was about time to get a new one.
I had an emachine when I first had a computer and didn't have any problems with it. The company is now owned by Gateway but their prices are cheaper so I went Office Depot and bought an emachine they had on sale. It has 1 GB of memory, a 160 GB hard drive, DVD RW DL, Windows Vista Home Basic, etc.
Like any kid when I want something I want it NOW so I got it but I am using restraint as I will wait a couple of days before I hook it up. I know it will be a major job as I have to transfer my e-mail account, download programs like mozilla firefox, set up my blogging accounts, allthatchat, nytimes, etc., and that will take time. (Any suggestions/hints will help!)
Oh, by the way, it also has a new keyboard, mouse and speakers--all in all cost a total of $250 plus tax.
