“The official start of hurricane season may get shifted into May in coming years, after several consecutive seasons produced storms prior to the current opening date of June 1."
We had very little rain in March and April and though officially May starts 'Rain Season' it wasn't until this week that we got hit with an all-day rain for the first time in a long time as you can see the list of amounts in the 3rd picture. Rain plus high temperatures add up to high humidity.
Today has been a beautiful sunny day up until now at 5 PM as the clouds start to roll in though it has been raining in Miami all day so we might start getting some shortly.
Tomorrow Fort Lauderdale is starting to reopen though there seem to be questions about whether restaurants will be able to open to 25 or 50% capacity or even if the latter can even open yet!
As much as I would love to eat out I am a little hesitant to and will wait to see what the response is from the public. I would be inclined to go to the new Quarterdeck as they have a wide-open outdoor courtyard with tables that can easily be set 6 feet apart. I, also, have a groupon for Cafe Vico that I was going to use for a theatre night but it doesn't look like there will be theatre for a long time! Cafe Vico has expanded so they might have no problem with the new rules and I would like to offer support but I just might wait until I see how the 'new normal' goes!
