Hong Kong Chinese Food--restaurant Review

(Allen in front of the Restaurant)

After
getting lucky when we 'discovered' Nana's Stromboli a couple of weeks
ago we decided to give another storefront place a chance and so we
walked into the Hong Kong Chinese Food place where you order at the counter, watch your food
being made, put together and you take it to one of the 3 tables
available. It is, basically, a fast food Chinese place.

The
restaurant is in a very busy shopping center near where the cruise
ships dock and not only the tourists but the crews from the ships come
to the center to shop and eat. There are many restaurants in the area
encompassing every kind of food ranging from very expensive to the
cheap, from 5 star to 1 star.

Allen
ordered the chicken with mixed vegetables ($5.75) while I had the
chicken in garlic sauce ($5.75) both which came with pork fried rice and
an egg roll. We both had a can of coke ($.95).

Allen
wasn't at all pleased with his dish finding the chicken all gristle and
the rest so-so. I liked my chicken dish but not the accompaniments
which felt/tasted pre-made.

All in all the new Hong Kong Chinese Food made me hope that Chinese food in Hong Kong tasted a lot better.

"The Complete  Pocket Positives".

"I could not, at any age, be content to take my place in a corner by the fireside and simply look on.

Life was meant to be lived. Curiosity must be kept alive.

The fatal thing is rejection. One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life."

I love "Chinese", esp. the buffets. This place doesn't look or sound too appealing. So, I'll pass.

thanks for emailing the pics to me...they still dont show up here for some reason. Looks very typical "food hall" type Chinese food you get everywhere. You would love the food halls in Singapore!!!!!
