Harry Potter 7---a Movie Review

The
full title of the film is, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part
1" as the last book in the series is divided into two films. I saw the
first two films and wasn't really caught up enough to see the next four
but decided to catch the last two. I am already having second thoughts about seeing part 2.

For
someone who hasn't seen all the films, and/or have read the books, this
film is confusing and, in some sections, incomprehensible. This is a
dark film with nudity and a lot of violence. The special effects are
special as are many of the magic tricks and whether it is meant to be
funny or not, Hermione's bag is a hoot. She can take a 'pup' tent out of
the bag and set it with 2-3 levels, steps, candles and furniture!

Over the past 9 years the public have seen Daniel Radcliffe (Harry), Emma Watson (Hermione) and Rupert Grint
(Ron) grow from children into adults without any hint of scandal and,
hopefully, they will continue into maturity without harming themselves
after the spotlight of the series dims. It will be interesting to see
where their careers go from here.

I
think my decision to see the last 2 films in the series was sort of
premature. Will I see Part 2? I don't care one way or the other.

You are probably right about the "more money" possibility. I am not sure why they felt the need to make it into two movies either, as someone who read the book, but still hasn't had a chance to see the movie.

Definitely two parts to make more money. The best thing I can see about the Harry Potter movies is that maybe more children were encouraged by them to read some books.

I cant imagine how you weren't totally lost. Rowling did a great job of tying everything up (major and minor plots) in the last book. I am not sure how that translates into the final film, but it must have been difficult.

It wasn't so much as being lost--the story is really a very primitive one though Rowling did a masterful job writing it--as being bored and wondering why they made two movies out of the book unless it was to make more money!
