Due to Chris's generosity (Thanks, Chris) I was able to celebrate MY birthday 4 months later and treat Allen for his birthday (and still have some left over for another piece of cheesecake next week LOL)
We went to The Cheesecake Factory--I had meant to bring my camera along to take pictures of the dishes but I forgot--hey, I'm 2 years older than he is!!!
He had his diet coke and I had real coffee and a glass of water. We started with an appetizer which we were splitting as we figured we would split one piece of cheesecake at the end and sort of behave ourselves.
We split a 'pot likker' appetizer which was small and tasty. Allen being the good boy he is had broiled salmon, broccoli and rice--I won't mention the 2 loaves of dark bread he had-I only had one loaf and that was for dipping in the suace (I love to dip!). I had Spicy Jambalaya on pasta which consisted of shrimp, chicken, peppers and onions in a creole sauce served on white and green linguine, which wasn't really that spicy but it was very tasty and, of course, used some bread to lap up the sauce left in the plate--will I never said I was classy!
Came time for dessert and we decided NOT to share a piece of cheesecake but to each have our own--I usually have Godiva chocolate cheesecake but this time decided on white chocolate macadamia caramel cheesecake--next time, instead of caramel sauce, I will ask for chocolate sauce--actually I will have the Godiva cheesecake!!!--I was proud of myself for two reasons the first being that I only ate 1 mound of whipped cream instead of the 3 they served with it and I did not suggest we go to Kilwin's for a home made chocolate waffle ice cream cone!!! (Ah, but next week I can have one after having lunch consisting of Godiva Cheesecake and coffee!!!
All in all I love when my friends have birthdays--I get to EAT!!!
