Where does the time go? It seems like it was just yesterday we went to see the Broadway touring show version of the movie “Sister Act” and was the movie really released in 1992? What happened to the past 23 years?!?
It was December 16, 2012, that the show opened up at the Broward Performing Arts Center in Fort Lauderdale and now, 2 years and 5 months later, almost to the day, we will be going to the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami to see it again.
With a new cast it will be interesting to see how the dynamics of Kerissa Arrington, as Deloris Van Cartier, who is hidden in a convent after she has witnessed a crime, will be with a new Mother Superior, played by Maggie Clennon Reberg, and the rest of the nuns.
Featuring an original score by Alan Menken, a Tony and Oscar winner, and choreographer, Anthony Van Laast, having the nuns do a Radio City Music Hall Rockettes routine, you know it is a feel good musical comedy.
Look for my new review within a day or two!
