Going for a 'Procedure'

I am suppose to go in for a procedure at my vascular surgeon's office on
Monday. Seems it is a procedure if done in office, an operation if done in
hospital!! :O)

In any case I am a little confused as I could swear
he said he would be reopening the stent that I had put in my left leg in 2000,
or possibly, a new one and do angioplasty (the balloon) on my right leg. Looking
at the instructions I was given it says the doctor has scheduled a right leg
angiogram. Supposedly this is a test
to see what has to be done so I am a little confused!!

I did have a fear about
being put under, especially after that was done for the valve operation, but it
seems I just get a local anesthetic, and at my request, a tranquillizer!!  LOL It seems the whole procedure takes an
hour and then 2-4 hours is spent in the recovery room.

To me the hardest part is going to be getting  to
the doctor's office which is quite a distance from me. I have 'ordered'
transportation and they insist on picking me up between 7:14 (Yes, that's
7:14) and 7:44   so that I will get to doctor's office by 9 AM.
There will be an hour's prep before the scheduled time of 10 AM for them to
start. I am not a jump out of bed and get going type of guy so I will have to
get up around 5:30 AM to be ready by 7:14. Now I know this is not a
problem for many of you but for a 'night' person it won't be easy. I very seldom
go/get to sleep before 2 AM.

And, of course, the poor
bird's schedule will all be messed up.
I, generally, don't uncover them until 11:30 AM when I feed them but not having
any idea what time i will be coming home I guess I will uncover and feed them at
3:30 AM--will cover them earlier than usual Sunday evening.

Allen is going to pick me up after I call him and tell him the nurse said it
is okay to leave. At that point I will probably not have eaten for over 12-15
hours so maybe we can stop for brunch--of course that depends upon how I feel
but I don't recall in 73 years EVER being too sick to eat.

In case you haven't heard folks, getting old is not easy
and for those who say 'age is just a state of mind' or 'age is just a number'
SHOVE IT!!!  LOL
