Pirate's bird store where I fell in love with some more birds as usual!LOL I was
a good boy though and didn't buy any even if they did have an English Budgie and
I also restrained myself in buying things for my birds--got the necessities, no
'extra' treats.
After that we went to The Olive Garden for their all you can eat
soup, salad and bread sticks lunch--I behaved my self there, also--only had 2
bowls of soup, 2 bowls of salad and 2 bread sticks--actually I don't like their
main courses--sauces are way too bland.
After that the fun began. Our first stop was Best Buy to look at
the their DVD/VHS player/recorder---seems companies aren't spending money on VHS
tape recorders, just machines to play them. In any case we spoke to one of the
salesman about connecting the machine to the TV I had bought there the month
before. He wasn't too much of help in that department BUT when I showed him the
TV I had bought I had noticed it was now $50 cheaper. He said I should bring in
the receipt to get the difference back. Of course the policy is within 30 to get
any refund if something is reduced in price--I bought it on Sept. 15 and here it
was Oct. 18 but Gino and I decided it might be worth the effort and would come
back after I get the receipt.
Leaving Best Buy we went to Target where I wanted to buy the
same DVD/VHS player I had before--they were out of them--and it turns out they
had a elimination sale on the machine selling it for $16!!!! Needless to say
they didn't have any left!
In any case I bought a Memorex machine and had to buy a 'video
converter' which is about 4 different cables to make connections.
After that then Gino took me to Publix to do my food shopping
and then back to my place for Gino to hook up the DVD/VHS player to the TV.
Taking it out of the box Gino saw it was dented and broke--they had put a return
back on the shelf as new!!
Without a second thought we repacked it and went back to Target
and, by the way, taking the receipt for the TV to take to Best Buy. No hassle at
Target changing the player but, of course, no apology or offer of reducing price
for wasted gas and time though I really didn't expect either.
On to Best Buy where, without too much trouble, I was able to
get a $53 refund for the difference in what I paid for the TV and what the TV
cost today but not in cash (which is how I paid for TV) but in store
credit--nothing I really need at Best Buy but I may get a new memory card for my
digital camera.
Gino worked on getting the machines connected for over an hour
but didn't have success and couldn't figure out what was wrong. I was no help as
my technical knowledge is zero. I'm going to have to ask around and see if
anyone here at Gateway is good at these things. I understand one of the
maintenance men are so I'll check with him on Monday.
After all this time living here I found out that Gino knows a
guy who lives here but didn't know that until I mentioned the guy's name--he, at
one time, owned bars in Florida and bars and clubs in New York--he was very
wealthy, had a home on the intercostal, was known for the parties he had, etc.,
and today he is broke, living in subsidized housing and practically lives in a
wheel chair--folks, you never know--enjoy every moment of your life
today!!!
All in all though not everything was accomplished it was a
relaxing day with a friend and I 'found' $53--let's not talk about how much I
spent on birds, DVD/VHS machine, etc. LOL

A lot of people do not know the difference,as long as it is sauce.
Never care for that place. But the soup and salad is a good buy there
for lunch. You had a very busy day in shopping there.
Instead of their salad,I always ask for Romaine. Not crazy about the
iceberg lettuce. You had a good day.
