at 5:30 in the morning!!! I mean it is still dark out and so are the
stars and moon!!! I had to get up at that time so I could catch my ride
to the vascular surgeon's office even though the procedurewouldn't take place until 11 AM!
Before
I knew it the sun was coming up and flooding the room with
light--sorry, I would rather see a sunset and the light disappearing
from the apartment but this is what I caught with the camera.
the bird's cage reflected on wall
Let
me tell you the birds were completely confused when I uncovered them--I
definitely saw them thinking, "What the hell is he up to now?" It is
going to take a day or two to get them back to their routine. LOL
Okay,
on to the procedure--everything went well though the guy who shaves the
groin did a really bad job--lots of cuts!!! The rest of the crew were
excellent including the nurse who gave me 2Valiums spaced apart so that I was completely relaxed during the whole thing. :O)
The bottom line? Not that good. The doctor did reopen the stent that I had placed in my left leg 9 years ago but he did tell me that both legs were severely
blocked--the left at the bottom near the ankle and the right just below
the shin. He said I had two choices, the first being by-pass operations
which he really wouldn't recommend as it could lead to worse problems.
The other choice, he said, was that if I was able to live with the pain
I should do more walking, walking through the pain, which in the long
run might get the circulation going better. He, also, suggested that I
go into the pool (but not for another week until the access site heals)
and do a lot of walking back and forth in the pool plus hanging on the
edge and doing kicks (not standing there and reading like I normally
do! LOL)
