KILL SENIORS, AND OTHERS, DIRECTLY TO FIX BUDGET!

FOR COMPLETE STORY GO TO WWW.SUN-SENTINEL.COM
Governor
Rick Scott who spent over $75 mil in his race for that position, who
does not write e-mails because they are part of public record, uses own
jet for 'meetings' that don't fall under the Florida Sunshine laws and
wants to privatorize prisons
and give them to companies of friends who supported his campaigns has
put forward proposals in his budget 'that would cut services to most
needy; the developmentally disabled, the elderly, the medically needy
and the homeless' while cutting business taxes for his Republican
friend's businesses.

I am not sure whether to laugh
at this or not--he would end Homeless Memorial Day--Laura Hansen, chief
executive officer of the Colaition to end Homelessness said taht no
costs were tied to the date.

'Poor elderly and disabled
citizens would no longer be provided eyeglasses, hearing aids and
dentures. And the State might no longer cover kidney dialysis or organ
transplant medication."

Nan Rich, 'There are certain
areas where there is no fat in the budget; you are into the bone. We
just have to say 'Stop!' We can't do this anymore to certain
populations.'

'Also on the chopping block is the Medically Needy's adult program.'''cutting ALL but physician's services from the adult
program such as transplant survivors, or people infected with AIDS would
not be covered.'

Karen Woodall, "To me that's a particularly cruel provision. It terrifies teh population of medical needy participants every time this Legislature talks about eliminating services, WHICH TO THEM ARE LIFE THREATENING if they don't get them.'
"When you're talking about somebody getting the kidney dialysis that they need or somebody who needs a hearing aid to be able to function properly, it's not a luxury item. It is a necessity to their quality of life."
'Also
affected would be suicide-prevention programs in public schools and
rape crisis centers. Alzheimer's resource centers would be completely
cut.'

The elderly would be
deprived of getting medicines that keep them alive so I guess Scott's
thinking is that if he can kill off the senior citizens, the homeless
(many are veterans), those that would eliminate themselves by committing suicide (teens) he can balance the budget--WHO NEEDS DEATH PANELS?????

While I can't see the sense in keeping the brain dead alive by extreme measures there has to be room for the other items th at or on his agenda
that he plans to eliminate.
