Failed DMV Eye Test, Saw Les Miz Again and More

Having
Allen's car and my license due to be renewed by March 1, 2013, I
decided to go up to the Department of Motor Vehicles office and, yes, as
the subject line says, I failed the eye test. I have been having
problems with my eyes the past few months and I know the cataracts are
growing as things are getting blurry plus it is hard fro me to read any
writing on TV. In any case I went to my eye doctor, he filled out a
paper, went back to the DMV and got my license. They must know something I don't as it is valid
until 2021 when I will be 85. Oh yes, I do have to submit a new eye test
in 3 years.

*********************************************************** Not that I am counting but I have the car for 41 hours more.

***********************************************************
I read this recently and since I have basically said the same thing
here is someone else who feels like I do;

"My
identity for the past 39 years (mine has been 65 years) has been as a
gay man. That identity dictates everything, not just who I marry (I
won't be doing that) but where I travel, where I eat, what products I
buy, and certainly what political party I align with. I don't identify
primarily as white or male or as a Buddhist (Jewish). I dance in the
kitchen after Thanksgiving dinner with gay people ( No, I don't)."

************************************************************

I
went to see the movie version of "Les Miserables" for the second time
and enjoyed it even more. I feel the critics have really dumped on Russell Crowe--
he may not be the best singer ever but he acts the heck out of the
part. And yes, I cried and cried! I am sure I will see it again before I
see the touring production on February 26 to see what the differences
are as I have been severely chastised at allthatchat for not knowing a song was switched there or a word eliminated here.
All I know is I sat back and really got into the film and enjoyed it!

Has Russell Crowe ever sang in anything before? I thought he did a pretty decent job if this was his first picture of him singing. I mean the film was 3 hours of pure singing, so people shouldn't be so critical.
Glad you got your Driver's License back, but sad about those eyes of yours!

Not in films but he does have a group he plays with publicly in pubs.

Hey your eyes, teeth, in fact your whole body will (hopefully) get old some day so take care of your various parts!!! Actually by your time of getting old they will probably have all workable, young replaceable body parts!

that is too bad I thought that he did a fine job with this picture.I am going to see it again.Just loved the show and all of the character were great.Failed eye test? Well I am sure that you will correct this and enjoy the balance of time in having Allen car.

I think you are smarter over there then we are here--they give anyone a driver's license--even 90 years olds who only have yo bring a note from their eye doctor!!! No written tests, no road tests, etc.

I so can't wait to see Les Miz. It is one of my favorite plays/soundtracks. I love the story both as a play and a book. I think one of the things that hurts Russell Crowe (without having seen it) is that Javert has one of the big solos ... and that solo really speaks to the core of Javert's fatal flaw. Crowe was never going to be able to belt it out as it needs to be, but I have a feeling that he has no trouble with capturing the emotions involved with his acting.
That stinks about your eye test. If you had cataract surgery, would that help?

I'm not saying Crowe is a singer but he certainly is an actor--Rex Harrison wasn't a singer either but he 'sold' Higgens
They are bashing me like heck at talkinbroadway for liking the film and Crowe AND Jackman!!!
