Dentist, Coward, Lunch, Weight, Movie, Etc.

I had an appointment with my dentist of over 20 years for a cleaning. I have
been having a lot of trouble with a very loose lower tooth and little did I
know, when I got in the chair, he was ready to take it out but I wasn't!! I have
never had a problem with going to dentist but when he started talking about
numbing the area, extracting and replacing the tooth I stared to panic!! I told
him I would need time to get myself ready psychologically for the whole thing!
That is/was so weird from me that I still don't comprehend it and can only blame
it on the operation and just another reaction..

When I was finished I went to Allen's place and we
went for lunch at Cheddar's which is a chain with excellent food, a great
ambiance, good prices and usually (but
not this time) good service.

We both had the grilled salmon on rice and peas platter plus two sides--Allen
being a 'good' boy had broccoli and carrots while I had cole slaw and French
Fries!

After that we went to see "The Reader"--see my
next blog for review--and then I came
home. The birds weren't happy not being let out of their cages until after 7
but they got over it!

Last, but certainly not least, just by giving up desserts since Christmas Day
I have lost 3.75 pounds--I am down to 192 on my way to 184!

Glad you got to enjoy a nice lunch after your not-so-nice visit to the dentist. You might not be able to explain your reaction exactly, but the thing is you were not expecting it, you weren't ready, so it was not the time to do it. I know you'll go back when you're ready and have that tooth taken care of.

You must had some idea that this tooth has to come out.
Sooner or later.Need to get this done in the near future.
Could lead to bigger problems.Sorry,I had this experience and felt the same way that you do.

Wow! That is freaky about his prepping for removal without telling you ahead of time.
