Death at a Funeral---a Movie Review

We had planned on going to see
"Handsome Harry" but when  we got to the theatre they said they were
having technological problems and couldn't show the film. I, usually,
have an alternative movie scheduled and suggested we go see "Death at a
Funeral"--my bad!

This was a remake of a
2007 British film which was a mild hit when it played in the USA. It
seems a producer, or someone, thought it would be a good idea to do
another version with mainly and all Black cast of comedians and it seems
the only one who benefited from it
was a white actor, James Marsden, who had the most
fun in his role and lifted the film every time he was on the screen. It
didn't hurt that he was nude in most of the film!

It was really embarrassing to see Danny Glover
lower himself in a role that was just gross. I am not a fan of Tracy
Morgan and his role and/or what he calls acting didn't change my mind.
The actor, who plays the dead father, brings more life to the screen as
the corpse than his 'sons' Chris Rock and Martin Lawrence do.

Most of the actors and actresses in this film
are lost and it is due to very poor, if any, direction and a screenplay
that just doesn't have the wit or play on the strengths of the cast.
