If this is what heterosexual marriage is really like
why would gays ever want to get married?!?!? This makes the Roses (Michael
Douglas and Kathleen Turner) in War Of The Roses look like a comedy romp.
Of the 4 couples in this movie one is divorced and
he is seeing a 20 year old girl, another is two months away from getting a
divorce when their child leaves for college,
the third couple should never had been married in the first place and the fourth
couple, the only ones who will probably stay married have a million problems
'like all couples'!
There is an air guitar
scene that is a waste of time and what humor there is comes from potty humor.
Yes, there is the toilet humor and the penis jokes and the gay jokes and the sex
gags. As Allen said some of the jokes were so bad you laughed just for that
reason. Yes it is vulgar but not vulgar enough for the young boys
club.
Vince Vaughn stars in the film, co-produced it and
co-wrote it and doesn't do well in any of the jobs. He better concentrate and
get his acting career in better shape or he will be a has been very soon. The
less said about the rest of the cast the better it is for all of them with one
exception and that is mainly because he, Carlos Ponce, is used as eye candy but
even there a great body is marred by his unshaven face.
The only reason, and you would be better off
watching the Travel channel, to see this movie is for the scenery of Bora-Bora. I was
there in 1972 before the hotel Regis, standing in for 'Eden', was
built and it had the fantastic water and sky and standing huts in the water as
it does now. It was a natural Eden back then.
The ending is as illogical
as the premise set up in the beginning. There is one mildly amusing yoga scene
and one raunchy massage scene posing as 'adult' humor but would only appeal to
that young boys club.
This is not a movie to see as the only ones who got
anything out of it were the cast and crew that vacationed, certainly didn't work, in Bora Bora to
make the film.
