ATTENTION: COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT
FROM EDITOR Martin D. Goodkin
I
really don’t know who can handle this quandary I am in but having faith
in the office staff I am sure someone will get this all straightened
out.
It was my understanding that there were a total of 8 other
people living in the remaining 5 apartments in building D and I am
beginning to question that assessment. I do not hear anyone, no
shouting, no televisions blasting, no slamming of doors except, maybe,
by ghosts, and, this is even eerie, I really think someone cleans the
stairs and hallways everyday and, yet, I don’t see anyone!
I did bump
into someone the other day who said, “Hello neighbor,” but how do I
know she is one? I never see anyone going into, or leaving, the front
and rear entrances. There are, occasionally, motorized chairs parked out
front but I don’t see anyone in them. I don’t ever smell cigarette
smoke and when I go down to The Point around midnight I never see a
light on in anyone’s apartment but mine! True I hear TOPS, around
midnight, beep-beep as it backs up and I hear faint talking but it all
fades out into the night.
I don’t believe in ghosts but is that what
it could be when I, once in awhile, hear a door slam or is it the wind
playing games with the top door leading out to the walkway?
Now I,
vaguely, remember signing papers over the past 12 years stating that I
can voice any complaints I have regarding living conditions and property
at The Gateway apartments. Do you think it is fun or even fair, at my
age, not to have anything to complain about, not even annoying
neighbors?
I hope someone from the office will look into my
complaints, first regarding whether other people are living in building D
and then why aren’t they going out of their way to annoy me.
Something has to be done regarding this situation or I will have to start writing letters to Orlando!
P.S Don’t you wish you lived in my building?
