Spent
a couple of hours going with Dot and Larry to get Dot a new computer
tower--her old one finally called it quits!! Dot is living with macular(?) degeneration and really only uses the computer for e-mail and word and she does have to 'blow up' the letters and use bold--she, also, needs the icon set up in certain spots so she can automatically get to where she wants to go.

We
stopped at Office Depot--place was dead--and then went to Best Buy--so
busy you couldn't find a place to park. She decided on the cheapest
machine which I agreed for what she needed it for that would be the
best bet.

After talking to the salesman
and the 'geek squad' member I explained to Dot that I would be able to
set it up but it would take a few days and I couldn't get rid of the
'ad' window that comes up which would mean another step for her which
she was very leery about. She wants it set up exactly as it was on her
old machine so I suggested she go with the 'geek squad' which she
decided to do. He will come over on Thursday from Noon to 4 PM and not
leave until it is working the way she wants it to. They were going to
charge for downloading Juno but I explained we had the disk and even I could do that in a few minutes so they agreed to do it without charge.

It's
a whole new industry--needing to hire someone to connect all the new
technology--no more just plugging something in and it is ready! When
(notice I didn't say if) I win enough money on one of the lotto games
like two Play4's I plan to buy a DVD/VHS recorder/player and have the
geek squad come over and set it up!!!

It always feels good to help someone else!

The
weather this past week, including today, has been tourist
perfect--beach weather during the day and cool in the evening. WE
really do need raindesperately but I love the way it is!

We
got a call from Robert and Jim about coming over and seeing how they
fixed up their backyard after all these years. The only problem is
between all our doctor appointments we aren't able to find a time we
are all available!  :O)

Okay,
tomorrow is THE big day--I go to the lung doctor at 2 PM--I really
WANT/NEED answers and hopefully I'll get them--or I won't leave his
office!!!
