Comparing the 8 Blog Sites I Post at Part 1

I started blogging over 3 and a half years ago and over 3500 posts ago since I discovered
this new world. Having been a writer all my life from keeping diaries
as a preteen and teen to having my first letter to the editor published
when I was 13--I don't count the letter I wrote entitled "Why I Love
Bing Crosby", I didn't, to win a Bing Crosby shirt--I have always
written, mainly in the form of a day to day diary. I was able to turn
some of these pages into magazines articles--mainly about restaurants
and motivation---6 books, 1 play and, just recently, 2 published books
plus a short story included in the anthology, "My First Time".

I then discovered blogging and found a new diary to keep about events in my life and a place to
get out my feelings and who I am. There is very little I haven't blogged about concerning my life regarding all aspects, past, present and future.

I now post blogs at 8 different blog sites: Blogster, MyBloggers, Blogger, Myspace, Multiply, posterous, Genkvitch and viewpoints. In most cases I write one blog,
post it and then copy and paste it to the other 6 except, since
viewpoints is mainly reviews, I will rewrite my post for that and since
Genkvitch doesn't take pictures (or viewpoints) within a blog they have to be edited.

I don't remember which site I posted at first--whether it was blogster or blogger--but when Eddie sold Blogster and started MyBloggers I joined the latter and was posting at 3 sites. When posting at Blogger they automatically send your post to multiply so before I knew it I had posts at 4 blog sites. Just recently I joined Genkvitch after reading about it in the papers as a new, basic, no frills blog site for the older crowd and that was after experiencing Myspace for a couple of years and still not knowing how to get comments there!

Being an avid movie and restaurant goer I liked reviewing and posting those reviews on my blog sites so I was delighted in finding viewpoints which specializes in
reviewing everything including movies, restaurants, household products,
TV shows, DVDs, carpet sweepers and all sorts of technology products.
They also have a blogging site as part of their web site. Last and not least I recently discovered posterous which is mainly a good place to save all your blogs by category along with pictures.

It wasn't too long before I committed myself to posting at least one blog EVERY day, which I have done except when I was in hospital for an aorta valve replacement but I did post blogs leading up to and the results after that operation which I hope
has/will help people. Before I knew it I was commenting on other blogs and subscribing to writers/people I found interesting only to discover I was reading over a hundred blogs a day and commenting on most of them!!!

As
important as blogging is to allowing me to express my feelings and
continuing my life diary are the people I have met along the way. It
certainly has been experience.

PART 2  RATING THE BLOG SITES--THE PEOPLE WHO BLOG ON THEM--WHICH I PAY MORE ATTENTION TO AND WHICH I, GENERALLY, IGNORE AND WHY.
