bowling--let's just say he beat Obama's score--we decided to go to
the Peter Pan diner--on the way we changed and instead went to the Quality
diner. When we walked in he spotted a group of his fellow bowlers and we joined
them. My first thought was, "These are a bunch of old men," and my second
thought was, "I am in their age group!" LOL
After lunch Allen took me to the CVS drugstore where I was to pick up
a new prescription for an inhaler, Advair, that my pulmonary doctor
called in since the one I had been taking for a week, Spiriva,
wasn't doing any good.
The only hesitation I have
about this medicine is that it comes with a warning not to use with arterial
fibrillation--the doctor said that if
my heart starts beating faster to stop
taking it--I hope it isn't too late at that point! :O)
When I got home it was such a beautiful day--sunny
with a nice breeze, little humidity and warm--that I decided to go sit on The
Point and read a couple of magazines and watch the boats.
Vinnie came along and we talked for about 1/2
hour--he about the newer, better pacemaker he had installed and me about my
breathing problems. Are you starting to see a theme here??
On the way back to my place I met Dot sitting on the
breeze way--she hasn't had it easy the past few months suffering from macular degeneration and shingles. She had to sell her car and, I am afraid, will have
to face having help giving up her Independence.
Last, but not least, I wish I understood me! I have
to go for a cat scan tomorrow. I have had it done a few times so I know what to
expect BUT things have changed since my operation. I have a feeling I won't be
able to go through with it. The anxiety of laying flat on my back, especially,
my head, is already building up in me. I don't want to take a tranquillizer
because I will be driving there and back.
I plan on going and, hopefully, I will get through
it and not abort it as I have previously. If I don't go through with it I will
have to schedule it on a day when Allen, or TOPS, will be available to drive me
there.
The moral of this blog is DON'T GET OLD!!! :O)
