It was a year ago today that Gino and I went up to Chippy's to get
some bird supplies. As usual Deborah, a friend of Gino's who has worked
for Clive for years, was there. I was looking at a budgie they had in a
cage as I was looking for another male.
Deborah
said that the bird had been found in an empty warehouse and that they
were just looking for a home for him. She was almost sure Clive
wouldn't even charge for him, so she checked with him and he said I
could have him if I wanted him. Wanted him? Me say no to a free bird?
Could/would/should I say no to a male budgie that I have been looking
for anyway? I left with a budgie who I would name Cassidy in honor of
the first budgie I had ever owned.
Today
we are celebrating our first year. Cassidy isn't too friendly towards
me and bothers the tiels and finches but he knows he has found a
welcome home and is always ready for his treat at 9 PM and will go into
his cage, with a little coaxing, whenever I want him to.
Anybody else want to give a bird(s) away? I have a few empty cages!
