Cafe Vico--a Restaurant Review

I saw Cafe Vico a few years ago  as it is in the same shopping center as the IHOP that I go for a cheese omelet with a stack . As I was making up my '19 restaurants' birthday list it immediately came to mind and I am glad it did!

Cafe
Vico has that home feel and yet the decor, with white and yellow
tablecloths and curtains playing against the dark wood gives the place
the elegance of a country home.

We
went for lunch and had the specials: Ossa Bucco ($16.95) that melted in
your mouth and 4 cheese ravioli ($12.95) that was delicious. As soon as
you sit down you are served plain, hot rolls with a thick garlic, oil
and spice dipping bowl. Having a choice of soup (pasta fagioli) or salad
with the meal I took the latter which was thick and tasty.
They serve complimentary bottled water.

I had the carrot cake ($6.95) for dessert and it was presented better than I have seen it served anywhere else plus it tasted good.

Cafe
Vico has been hidden away in the corner of a shopping strip and has
grown year by year with the help of 'regulars' and tasteful expansion.

The ambiance and food are top drawer as was the service with the server and busboy working as a team

Bravo Marco Vico!!!

This restaurant is definitely a find and I will be back. To lear and see more go to

Along
with the discovery of the Cafe Vico we also discovered that behind the
shopping center is a sanctuary which was a delightful surprise and a
piece of more heaven in the center of Fort Lauderdale!

What does the sign at the sanctuary say? Sanctuary for what, please?

Very nice, Martin. Last night there was a blooming Christmas cactus in one of my dreams (light pink), and I remember thinking 'must tell Martin.'

Cozy place, good food, good service--a little bit higher in price for lunch than most Italian restaurants but worth it
