Burgerfri and Boston Market Restaurants--review

Having
been a waiter for 38 years my main objection to fast food places is the
fact that I can't just enter, be seated and be waited on but, lately,
it seems places like Boston Market are taking those extra steps. You
still have to place your order but today--and I don't know bit would
like to think I was the exception! (wasn't)--all I did was give my order
and one of the guys behind the counter took the tray and put the food
on the table. I did have to pour my own drink  but one of the employees
did clean off my table when I was finished. Things are looking up!
Oh
the food! I had a special of 1/2 a chicken, 2 sides and cornbread for
$7.99 The chicken was really good, , hot, moist and tasty. My side
dishes weren't that good as the cheese and macaroni was salty, the
string beans cold and the cornbread dry BUT I got served!! I told the
woman about the beans and she was willing to change them or get me a new
dish but I told her that wasn't necessary. With my drink the check came
to $10 about average for lunch today.
All the employees were
pleasant but I have a question for other servers---in a case like this
do you leave a couple of dollars on the table for delivering the food
and cleaning the table?

We
have been to the BurgerFi over near the beach a couple of times but
this is a new one that opened near where I live and I was in the mood
for a good cheeseburger. I love cheeseburgers but I am still getting use
to paying over $12 for a cheeseburger ($6.57), French fries ($2.77) and
a soda ($2.77) though I have paid over $12 just for the cheeseburger at
fancier places like Rok Burger. I like my burgers medium rare so they
are juicy and this one was well done which is too dry for me though I
wasn't even asked how I wanted it. There seems something is wrong when a
soda and order of fries are the same price. It looks as if most fast
food places are starting to go that extra mile by giving a little
service and in this case an employee brought the meal to the table I was
seating at.
If I am going to pay $12 for lunch I would rather go to a
sit down restaurant with full service and they will ask me how I would
like the burger cooked!

Now if only Bennigan's would come back--they had a good cheeseburger at a good price and table serice!

There are a couple of semi-fast food places where I go with some friends that offer table service from regular staff. We often leave a tip.

We're going out for our wedding anniversary later this month, and I have to decide where. Not the cheap Chinese buffet, if it's up to me.
