Having been born on February 29, meaning I
only had a birthday once every 4 years, celebrating birthdays became a
big deal to me, not only mine but those of my friends. He may not wanted
to have been reminded, or honestly didn't remember as birthdays aren't a
big deal to him, but Allen's birthday is on Friday, June 18, and I told
him we were going out to a movie and dinner. We will be going to a new
restaurant, for us, where they serve a 20 ounce prime rib.
Talking about
prime ribs, today for lunch we went to Quarterdeck, where we are
becoming regulars! We both had their Wednesday special--yes, you guessed
it, prime ribs. After that, since it is just around the corner, and I had a coupon, we went
to the Cold Stone Creamery for a cup of ice cream.
Not too far from
where I live is the ArtServe library and adjacent to it is the Stonewall library. The former is
having an "Art Is Healing" exhibit in which one of my neighbors is
participating and it being a combination of Gay Pride Month and the Gay
Pride Festival with Jennifer Holiday entertaining Sunday, June 20, the
latter was having a 50 year history of the Gay Community of Fort Lauderdale.
Both
organizations are unique and I will be doing separate blogs about them and the exhibits
they are currently showing over the next couple of days--not to forget
celebrating Allen's birthday!
Did I mention 3 of my books are in the
library?
