Starting in January I will
begin my fifth year of blogging and it
certainly has been an adventure. I have made dear, concerned loving friends all
over the world and have received many unexpected gifts and calls. Some have said
I have inspired them with a few seeing me as a mentor. Of course, as to be
expected, I have made 4-5 enemies and have been called, among other things, a
liar, a woman hater, a senile old man, simply an old man along with beingaccused
of not being the positive, Pollyanna I claim to be because no one can be that
way 24/7 even though I never said I was--24/7, that is. LOL

I have done an 8 part
series on my fight with fat and my fat history and, upon receiving the news I
was going to have  aorta valve replacement surgery and finding not very much
personal information on the procedure, I did a series up to and the post effects
of the operation. I have told all the highs and lows in my life, my inability to
maintain relationships with lovers, my overindulgence with sex andthe record
number of sex partners. There is very little people reading my blogs will not, do not know about
me.

In all probability the
only thing I never have spoken about are the actual sex acts I have, and do
indulge in, but I had to keep something for my books. :O) I am basically a
gentleman who holds the door open for a lady, walks on the outside, don't curse
in front of them, am loyal to friends, will back people when they are being
attacked and, ingeneral, am a giving, sharing person.

Something happened when I
started blogging as it became more of
a journal of my day by day doings, thoughts, ideas and experiences. I did
continue to keep a private diary but more of a shorthand one. In my blogs I talked about where and what I ate,
movies I saw, things I did with friends, where I lived, how I lived and the
people around me. I talked, and talk about my sex life--yes, though an old man I
still have one LOL--and how good I
have life in the last part of my life. I consider myself lucky, very lucky to
have led the life I have lived and living the life I lead now.

I have no fear of identity theft because I,
literally, have nothing to steal. The only money I get/have is my social
security check and that is spent as soon as it comes in. I have never worried
about being blackmailed because I have been open and honest about my life and
myself since I have been living on my own and only have/had  to answer to
myself.

What does all this have to
do with blogging and writing? At the
time I started blogging I had written
a few chapters of a new novel dealing with Miami Beach in the 50s and 60s, there
was a first chapter of another book regarding old age and the point you reach
from being older to being old plus a couple of ideas swirling in my head. The
only writing I have done in the past 4 years has been on my blogs which I have been rereading the past
couple of months. I am thinking of gathering a few of the series and sending
them to a couple of publishers I know and to my old agent. At 74 I am not
worried or thinking of 'success' but more of, maybe, just maybe, helping others
by showing what I have done and theirlearning from my experiences and, as I have
said before, if nothing else learning not what to do!!

YEAR OF BLOGGING AND MAKING NEW
FRIENDS(and probably another enemy of two who are unable to deal with honesty or
someone being positive about life! It comes with the territory. LOL)
