Part of the Garden

Mary Todd Daylily

Basil
Well as you can see it is ready for picky.
Will be making pesto next week.
Have to get my inventory checked to see what I need.
Loved making it.

This has been a great growing season for them this year.
Then I have a bunch of zuchinni and now will get ready to make bread.Whew I am tired all ready just thinking about this.
Mike was complaining about the cookie jar being empty.
It has been so hot and did not feel like doing any baking.
But supposed to cool off some and will get the baking going for my poor Mikie.LOL.
Today we are having off and on heavy rain.
Need the rain so badly but as soon the rain hit it evorprate
Not soaking the grounds yet.

Another shot of Mary Todd Daylily.

Love basil. One year I grew three or four different varieties and made the best pesto!

I always have a big pot with basil growing. For you black thumbs out there, try container gardening.

Beautiful photos. I started my basil this year from seed, and it is a disappointment. Next year, I'm buying a good start from the nursery.

I never have good luck with seeds.Always get the plant.Though many people starts off with seeds and have good luck.

It's a great season here too.... the yellow squash are doing excellent and I saw tons of new flowers this morning. Not so soft rotten end to be found.

yes, they are doing great. But every year I plant eggplant and never get any fruit from this.Someone told me to put sand on the bottom for drainage.
He has so many there.Guess that he is going to supply me.I hope.

Like Kris, I have a black thumb. My two boys used to tease me about being the only person they knew who could kill a plastic plant. Your day lilies are just gorgeous!
comment by gapeach on July 10, 2010 11:38 AM ()
I could kill a plastic plant as well. Clearly we rock.
reply by kristilyn3 on July 11, 2010 1:00 PM ()
Thank you.Guess we all have to learned a few things.
reply by fredo on July 10, 2010 1:17 PM ()
Tucker pee's on our plants so everything is dead. Not to mention the lack of rain and 102 temps are not ideal for growing things anyways. Then ya add inmy black thumb and yeah, no plants! That basil looks DIVINE!!!
comment by kristilyn3 on July 10, 2010 10:26 AM ()
Well do educate Buffy on this. Now he understand to stay away from the plants. Not bragging but he does a good job.
