For the Love of All Thats Holy!

I am writing this in red cuz thats how mad I am! Why on earth did God create those big green headed flies???? I had to water the veggies, and all was fine. Then I decided to water the roses out front. Oh my Lord, I was eaten alive by those nasty nasty bugs! What purpose do they serve other than to bite us and take chunks of our flesh? I am still itching! I was doing the dance of the flies I believe. Jumping around, waving my arms, running through the yard screaming! Quite a show for the neighbors. I believe I heard my neighbor T engulfed in hysterical laughter, from the safety of her garage.
I have little green cherry tomatoes on. All the plants are looking great, amidst the weeds of course. I weeded a circle around each plant for now. Will try and do more tomorrow. Once I cover myself in a beekeepers outfit! We normally do not have bad bugs out here, they spray alot as there is alot of marsh around here. But I have not seen them spray since Spring.
I think I will go scratch myself to death now!

The weeds are relentless this year. We cannot stay ahead of them.

Okay, to begin with, these were one of the plagues of Egypt a la the Old Testament. We're still stuck with them all these years later. My tomatoes have been turning red for a while. Can't wait till they are done!

eek, we have breeding mosquitos here. I was using the leaf vacuum this morning and disturbed a good amount of them. My arms and legs are lumpy now with all the bites

Scott told me about these pesky beasts when he was in Rhode Island. Drove him crazy.

Biting flies are such a pain. I used to ride horses quite a lot, so I know a few things about the little buggers. Sounds like you could use some fly traps in your yard. Really, it does help to cover up any exposed skin if you are going to be gardening, which is helpful against all insects and ticks. There is a great link to some really helpful info from the University of Florida (https://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/IG081). Check it out!
