Ahhh Christmas

I can honestly say this Christmas is one for the memory book. Having our son home and his lovely fiance has been the icing on the cake. We talked about Christmas' past last night. Me and hubby were doing our traditional late night wrapping and son and fiance came and joined us. I love having the house full of my loved ones. Daughter stopped by this morning with her significant other and she proudly showed me the ring she got! Nothing warms a mom's heart more than see her kids find their soul mate. Kota about passed out when he opened his nintendo ds. That was hilarious. I swear that kid could be an actor one day, so dramatic and funny!
Me and hubby again held off on presents for each other. But my future daughter in law got me a very nice gift. Booties you can warm up in the microwave to soothe tired and aching feet, also a neck pillow you can do the same with. I jokingly said she only did it so she doesn't have to hear me whine when I come home from a long day at work. Daughter gave me and hubby a gift card to a favorite restaurant. I see an actual date night in our future! We have all had fun playing with kota's toys all day. I got a nap in of course!
I have to say, I am relieved the holiday shopping season is over. I survived it, none the worse for wear. Christmas eve it was as busy as it ever gets, but all the customers were very friendly. I even had one buy me a bottle of water. I saw alot of human kindness, alot of giving. Thats the Christmas spirit I love to see. After I got off work at 1:30 hubby was there waiting with an empty cart. He got off at noon and we were able to do our shopping.
Last night was the traditional Christmas Eve get together for hubby's side of the family. And this was the first year we had it our house. We had so many compliments and everyone enjoyed themselves. My brother in law raved about the house and how happy I now am. We had so much food! I was so worried it would be a disaster, I am not much of a planner. But my future daughter in law helped me out so much. After everyone left I had her stand up. Then I gave her a big hug and thanked her for being a part of our family. She said this morning, that was the best gift she could have gotten. All of her family is in Texas and I hope we made her feel a part of ours. I also hugged son and thanked him for finding her!
As we now reflect on the past year I can honestly look back and not be afraid of bringing up the bad memories. Its all behind us now. Losing the house was a crushing defeat. But we are so much happier now in our new house, our rented house. There are no worries. If something breaks, we call the landlord. Of course hubby is able to do most things with his approval. Kota has settled down in the most lovable kid ever. It's like the first half of the year was just a bad nightmare. And Kota has not spent all day playing video games! He seems more interested in his building sets and using his imagination.
My only wish is that you all too have had a wonderful Christmas, full of love and family.

I'm so happy that your Christmas was so joyful and special. I'm glad the holiday shopping is behind us too! It was an experience I shall never forget, let me tell you! Now we are gearing up for the New Years Eve and New Years Day sales. Things should then settle down.

Sounds great! I'd like to get one of those warmup things for Donna, but it would have to be a full body suit! She has Renaults syndrome and it makes her unusually cold, especially her hands and feet. It's like having an ice cube come to bed if I'm there first!
