Not a Happy Camper

I lost the filling out of my tooth Thursday.    I spent all day Thursday trying to find a dentist.    I called my regular dentist, and explained the problem.   She was very sympathetic but they couldn't get me in.   Couldn't get me in for 3 weeks - 3 friggin weeks...not one, not two, but three weeks.   I explained that it was somewhat of an emergency.   Drinking anything is new adventures in pain, and I make funny noises.  It hurts...but no.  No go, nada.   Sorry your in pain...but no.   Yeah well bite me...
I tried 3 more...and pretty much got the same results.   I finally found someone that could see me Tuesday.   When I told her that drinking water made me see stars and that I made sqeaking noises because of it...she laughed.   I thought it was right nice of her to enjoy my story...and really nice of her to get me in before Christmas.
I've been surviving with orajel and Tylenol.   Eating has turned into all sorts of fun, and drinking anything above boiling is like a grand adventure.   I've been grumpy I admit it.
I spent all day Friday in meetings at work.   We got to learn all sorts of things like sexual harassment, disability edicate, Gang Violence, and 401K stuff.  It was a long day and I felt like crap so that made it doubly fun...LOL
Gonna do quiz early this week, because I have no idea when I'll get out of the dentist or if I'll feel like doing anything..so look for it Monday afternoon...
Enjoy your weekend...*hugs*

Dang! I just read this and now I'm holding my jaw and cringing in imaginary-but-I-can-feel-it pain! You poor thing! I hope your tooth is all filled again and you are no longer seeing stars when you eat or making all kinds of unexplainable sounds.

I hope Tuesday comes fast for you!

Oh, I know the pain. My dentist was really good about getting me in. It seems they set aside a small amount of time each day for emergencies... good practice I think. Are you supposed to suffer in pain for 2 or more weeks? That is just ridiculous. I hope all is better ASAP.

I'd switch dentists if I were you...to the one who was there in time of need. ("bite me" to the dentist).

I'd switch to a dentist that had some coverage, I'm so lucky.. my dentist will meet me at his office... why do out teeth always want to start hurting on weekends and holidays?

So sorry, sweetie! Interesting to note that the concept of genuine emergency dental care services seems more to be a line in an ad promoting a certain dentist or practice rather than a reality. Hmmmm.... So, will you be looking for a new dentist? I don't think I would return to a dentist who wouldn't see me in an emergency.

I have a pretty high tolerance for pain but not when it's in my mouth.

I had some sort of do-it-yourself filling stuff that got too old before I ever used it. The idea was to mix this stuff and stick the paste in the open tooth. Maybe you could ask in a drug store. Be back for the quiz, good luck!

I have a VERY loose tooth ready to fall out and I am not looking forward to that!!

That's really strange - I thought dentists always kept some time in their schedule to fit in emergencies like yours.

Hope you are able to get that filling taken care of really soon!
