The Week That Is

I am hoping for a little extra strength this week. Next
Sunday, I am hosting a baby shower for Sara. She has thrown
a ringer into the mix by inviting all of her aunts that I do
not know and they are bringing their children. I expect about thirty people. On top of this, I have 20 forms to
fill out for the Veteran's Administration.

Yesterday, I put six bags of top soil into the holes that
Rex dug in the back yard. I need at least four more. My
yard is brown and ugly and it still freezes at night so I
have very few flowers. Not a good situation. I am starving
for color.

I have done a lot of cooking, banana bread, brownies, dips
etc and most of it is in the freezer but I need to make chicken salad the day before and sandwiches at the last minute. I ordered croissants and a fancy cake and they will
have to be picked up at the last minute too.

Ted is physically stronger but mentally showing ever more
signs of dementia. Bobby is weaker, instead of having good
days, he now has a few good hours. Ellie is coping a lot
better now which is a blessing.

My computer is acting up but Bobby is not able to come over
and fix it. I think there is too much child use on it.
Fortunately, I can still get most every place I want to go.

There is a site called Zulily. com that I love. It has
designer shoes and clothes at a deep discount. I was able
to see a brief picture of Laura talking about the flood
also.

Have a good week dear friends.

I don't have family nearby to create what, for me, would amount to a social meltdown. I envy that you can handle it, unexpected as it was. As for Sara, how could she blithely not know the work and cost involved? So very sorry Ted and Bobby have such a difficult road to travel. My thoughts are with you.

Good for you for making and freezing food for prep.
Sorry to hear about Ted and Bobby. The toll that must take on you...

It is like money in the bank.

My first though was the same as Laura's--more quests = more $$. But I believe it (maybe because it's what I would do).

These guests are children, they equal more food and no more gifts. That is
why Sara was nuts to invite them.

Did she invite all those people so she'd get more gifts? Too bad it's not a warmer time of year, you could build a little corral out in the backyard for all the little kids.
