We just got back from a delightful time in Lake Geneva,
Wisconsin. We stayed at the Abbey Resort and had a
room overlooking the lake with a wonderful porch
outside. It was 74 degrees with little humidity and a
wonderful breeze from the water.
We simply had a good time with friends and it was a relief
not to think for awhile. I hardly watched all the upsetting
news, forgot political debate and just had fun.
We had teen house sitters for Rex...my granddaughter and one of her friends...and he did a lot better than when we
boarded him. He ate, although he insisted on tuna atop
his dogfood. He is a spoiled brat but his incision is looking
good and we will have the staples removed today.
One of our stops was the Taste of Home kitchen and they
had a wonderful store. I got a really good garlic press
and an omelet maker. I wish that I had gotten some
of their cookie sheets but I didn't want to lug them
around.
It is nice to be home again, having my own good coffee
and getting back to my routine. Ted did very well although
he missed Rex every day. The teenagers stripped my house
of snacks and pretty much cleaned out the fridge. I told
them nothing was off limits and they could eat whatever
they fancied.
