Summer Time and Oklahoma Politics.

It is lovely to find all kinds of fresh fruit and vegetables
in the market. I just had a nectarine for part of my
breakfast and it was delicious and ripe and juicy.

I have an oriental coffee table that I was no longer happy
with and I painted it white. It does look much better on
the back porch where it had been banished. Nothing makes
me happier than fresh paint. Well almost nothing.

We are deluged with negative political ads. The Republican
primary is coming up and I am sure the not qualified candidate
will win but the other front runner is tea party endorsed by
Sarah Palin and Ted Cruz. Tom Coburn resigned his Senate
seat because of illness. So James Langford is the best of
two evils. His only qualification is being a Youth Minister.
And that my friends is what politics are in Oklahoma.

A friend of mine is having a Golden Wedding party at a
local restaurant. It will be a lot of fun I think.

There is an Asian store that sells knock off Coach purses,
costume jewelry, luggage etc. It is a fun place to browse
in for ear rings. I don't feel dressed without them.

I get really peeved when prominent designers send their
clothing overseas to be constructed in sweat shops and then
bring them back and sell them for outrageous prices. It isn't fair to America who nurtured them. We deserve
quality materials and workmanship and jobs for our people.

Immigration is another concern of mine. I do not condone
putting Mexican children in jail like compounds. Oklahoma
and Texas both have them, pending re-location back to
Mexico.

Have a great day folks!

Politics depress me. A few days ago, I had a Eureka moment- something that I knew all along, but the gravity of it finally sunk in. Republicans, Libertarians, Tea Partiers can argue that what they stand for is less government, but what they really mean is less for the poor, fewer universal benefits, less anything that will end up putting more money in their pockets! I look at places where wars are raging like Africa, the Middle East, and parts of Asia, and while many of the 'rebels' espouse extreme religious and political views, for the most part, they all live in dire poverty. They don't have food, clothing or shelter, let alone the opportunity to educate themselves or offer their children a better future. Is it any wonder that they view capitalism as evil?

Politicians seem to forget that they ever had lean days. Bribery and
corruption and favors owed make them even greedier and less fit to govern.
I would hate to live on under eight dollars an hour and I feel for the people
who have to do that. I think employers ought to pay a living wage.

It's amazing that people still support bagger candidates after they have seen how much obstruction and gridlock their politicians cause. Now that I think about it, it's even more amazing that anybody would vote for a candidate endorsed by Sarah. Oh well... we have an incumbent running for congress here who says he voted to repeal Obamacare. They really need to make improvements to it, but the repeal bull is just to pander to a certain voting population. Unfortunately upstate NY is heavily republican, so he'll probably get re-elected.

This is such an entrenched Republican state. They oppose Obama out of
sheer prejudice and everything he does is wrong. We pointed out to a friend
that had a hip operation that he would have been refused the surgery on the
grounds that it was a pre existing condition if it were not for Obama care.
He still hates Obama while enjoying his pain free condition.

No, it isn't good. Have these people no empathy for the less fortunate?
