Last night I was watching an episode on the History channel about the Mexican gangs in Oklahoma City and in Atlanta.
Some of the younger gang members were only five years old but they were carrying guns. The gangs let juvies do the dirty work because they only get a slap on the wrist. It was
horrifying to say the least.
One of the gang members said it was about love. His fellow hoodlums loved him enough to kill for him. He said he had
been looking for love his whole life. I found it horrifying and heart wrenching at the same time.
These people moved here from California because the cost of living is so much cheaper. Their parents are working and
their kids are selling drugs. They are also killing and being killed at an alarming rate. How can they hold life so cheaply?
They have an area in South Oklahoma City that I would not
venture on. They do a lot of drive by shootings on those streets and aren't remorseful when they get the wrong
target. How did we ever let this problem escalate until
it reached these proportions?
With so many national problems, it is no wonder that
illegal immigration is not our thorniest issue. Something
has got to give.
