Rex is curled up at my feet in a deep, doggy snooze. I am having a cup of coffee and a piece of peanut butter fudge for breakfast. It is delicious.
I went shopping yesterday at 9:30 and got home at l2:30.
I had a wonderful time. I went out to the base and bought wine and champagne for New Years and picked up all the things at the Commisary that are cheaper there. Actually most groceries are cheaper at super markets. That is a shame because so many people think that it averages out and the Commisary is less expensive.
Then I went to Target and bought a George Forman grill. I
couldn't be that close to Marshalls and not check it out. I
was richly rewarded for my diligence because I got a pair of
Ralph Lauren khaki pants for Ted and a gorgeous cobalt blue jacket for myself. Best of all, I found an off white flokati
rug for under the coffee table. It adds texture and looks just
right.
I was hungry and exhausted when I got home. Adrienne
wandered over and ate some crispy cremes. That child
can really stow it away. Ellie called and wanted to bring
both children over so that she could wrap their gifts. The
girls and I made some more white chocolate candy and some
more peanut butter fudge.
The only gift that I am anxious about is the jade bracelet
that I bought for Adrienne. She will like her other things but
seldom wears jewelry. She needs to develop a fondness for
jade and emeralds since her eyes are jade green. It is a
wonderful combination with her dark hair.
When I got home from all this shopping, Ted had vacumned
for me. It is my most hated chore. It made yesterday a
perfect all around day.
