All Fired Up

Yesterday, the Oklahoma Senate and House passed a bill over the Governor's veto that is extremely upsetting. They are plunging us into the middle ages. The gist of the bill is that no one can have an abortion until they watch an ultra
sound of the fetus and have a doctor explain what they are
seeing. Then they passed another bill over the Governor's
veto which says no doctor can be sued for mal practice if
he does not reveal that the fetus is devective.

Of course I am beyond reproductive age by a lot but I still hate that the religious right can get their way. Women
need for many reasons to have control over their own bodies.
I hope that the supreme court will strike this down as
unconstitutional.

Oddly enough, I got a questionaire from the Republican
party today and I let fly. Not that it will do one bit
of good. These are not reasonable people but I was delighted to get to send it back to them with my comments
on the laws that were enacted yesterday...at their expense,
they paid the postage.

My daughter and I feel so ashamed that they are unreasonable
and recalcitrant. This would be a perfect time to see a
little cooperation. They would rather see our country go
down the tubes than budge from their desire to dominate
us all.

One of the life lessons that I learned was that you cannot
control other people and that you should never try to
manipulate others to believe what you do. We all have our
own realities and I will be damned if the religious right
is going to dictate how I think, feel and act.
