I never imagined that I would get this old! I am fortunate in having the love of my family, good health, and in having Ted to share my life with. I don't like alone time.

On the minus side is the fact that I am losing my hearing. I have hearing aides and despise the finicky things. However, that is not much to complain about.

Jose brings us lots of joy and the pleasure of reading is always available. The library is close by and I find that the older books are the best except for primo authors like Elizabeth George and John Greshem. I have been reading a lot of Isabel Allende and enjoying it after I get past the slow start.

My poor state is in such a mess under the extreme right leadership. State employees are talking about walking out and so are the teachers. Prison guards are paid so little that they are eligible for food stamps. State employees have not had raises for years. We had a surplus when our Democratic Governor left office seven or so years ago but the Republicans have given big oil tax breaks and given industry tax incentives and now we are a state in crisis. All the legislature can do is pass bills that go down well with the evangelical and accomplish absolutely nothing.
