Saturday was sheer bliss. I had both my children and my four
grand daughters and Ellie and my two great grandchildren
at home with me. Chandler, the baby is enchanting, never
cries, just gurgles and coos and laughs. She captivated us
all.
Our Laura is in her second year of college, majoring in
fashion design. I was so impressed with the lined jacket
that she was wearing and had made. It looked professional.
She says that are all learning to sew really well but that
she would like to see more creativity and that won't happen
until she is a senior.
We had the most beautiful Christmas tree this year. I have
been collecting vintage ornaments at every estate sale and
had enough to tie one to each Christmas package.
My sister in law is very artistic and she made one from a
turkey breast bone. It makes a little sleigh and when painted and glitter is applied and it is heaped with tiny
packages, it is adorable. Ted and I have two breast bones
and are making two of them.
Meanwhile, life goes on and there are taxes and income
taxes and winter to get through. This is a bad week
because Bobby will have chemo to get behind him. It is
every three weeks now.
My escape is reading and I average one book a day in the
winter time. Now that I have a Kindle, it is easier to
use in doctor's offices and other pits of wait time. Bobby and Ellie gave it to me for Christmas and I love
it.
I was hoping that someone would have a party for New Year's eve but they didn't. I am thinking of joining an
investment club. I really like the women in it and would
like to be more informed about stocks and bonds.
The market for oil and it's crash have put most people
in Oklahoma in a crunch, including me. Our economy is
dependent on it so we are losing about a third of our
income. I am glad for the rest of you to have cheap gas
but it impacts everyone here in a negative way.
