What did Presidents Hoover, Truman, and Eisenhower have in common?

This is something that should be of great interest for you to pass around. I didn't know of this until it was pointed out to me.

Back during the great depression, Herbert Hoover ordered the deportation of ALL illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American citizens that desperately needed work.

Harry Truman deported over two million illegal aliens after WWII to create jobs for returning veterans.

In 1954 Dwight Eisenhower deported 13 million Mexicans. The program was called Operation Wetback. It was done so WWII and Korean veterans would have a better chance at jobs. It took two years, but they deported them!

Now if they could deport the illegal aliens back then, they could sure do it today. If you have doubts about the veracity of this information, enter Operation Wetback into your favorite search engine and confirm it for yourself.

Why you might ask can't they do this today? Actually the answer is quite simple. Hoover , Truman, and Eisenhower were men of honor, not untrustworthy politicians looking for votes!

My mother was an illegal alien and three of my sisters did not become citizens until well into adulthood. I was a dual national, but my illegal alien mother did not have custody of me- part of the reason she was illegal- no dependent American children. People tend to think of illegal immigrants as Mexicans, brown skinned or generally people of color. My mother was as white as they come. She was German. She came here legally as so many illegal immigrants did even today, but became illegal through a series of circumstances that would take too long to explain. Bet many of those same circumstances apply to the brown skinned people from Mexico.

Pick up any paper and you'll find jobs available. Unfortunately, they are not the jobs Americans will do--especially those folks who are used to making big bucks. It was one thing to make factory-type jobs available "back then", but manufacturing isn't the American staple any longer. Don't get me wrong, I'm not supporting illegal immigration, just pointing out why deportation wouldn't be very effective in creating jobs. Now saving tax money.... yup, it would sure do that, especially the boarder crossings to give birth down south. Happy New Year!

Who mowed the yards then? We did our own. I was the girl who used the weed - hook. Probably paid 24 cents an hour by my father. But you could buy a real hamburger for 15 cents. I really don't count those the "good ole days".
