Music

Other people are normal and listen to music regularly, but somehow I've never done that, and I notice that when I feel better I suddenly notice the lack of music and need to binge. I often discover things I had no clue about, like Shakey Graves --

(is this going to work, or have I forgotten some html?)

And rediscovered Burr Beard of the group Devilish Merry, who's been around in Pittsburgh for about 40 years, heard them first at Pitt's Student Union --

That led to finding a great cover of the song "Everybody Wants to Rule the World" on dulcimer, and the guy does it so well that Tears for Fears came to join in -- Ted Yoder and Tears for Fears -- they to have to wait for a tractor to pass, so the music doesn't actually begin until almost 2 minutes in.

That last is such a great unplugged performance. The drummer actually uses what appears to be an ottoman from someone's living room.

I have always loved folk music, especially the old English ballads.
Unlike Teal, Elvis was one of my favorites but then I am not musically
talented or really in a position to critique. I adore zydeco and blues.

Different strokes for different folks. The pop music I liked stopped when Elvis Presley and the Beatles took over. Since then it has been, in my view, downhill all the way, including the whispy voiced ingenue songwriters that supposedly intelligent reviewers fall all over. Get a voice, I'm thinking. I'm sticking to classical music. It never, ever fails me.
