That is the name of this painting. I found some images on Flickr- remember when I said I was looking for snow scenes? I was looking for some dramatic landscapes, found none but ran into photos of these two kids. They are two separate photos that I combined into a single image. I emailed the parents/photographer and asked if I could use their photos, and I'll bet they thought possibly I was a nut case, but they eventually replied and gave consent. I promised them a print.
Figurative. That is the new word I am going to use to describe my art. Shelly calls it "Americana" and that sort of stuck but I never liked it. I know it is not true, but Americana suggests crude folk art to me. 'Figurative' is almost too broad because it can mean anything from abstract to Renaissance and everything in between- as long as it depicts the figure.
By this time last year I had completed at least five pieces. This year I am lucky to do one a month. I have stayed busy, and I am also behind schedule getting my manuscript scanned in to recreate the Word file. There is only one of me and only so much time, and I sure know how to waste it!
Hope this time the image is not cut off when I post it.
