I love lentil soup and had a craving for some. I use a very easy, plain recipe: a package of lentils (about two cups), a pound of browned hamburger, one large onion minced and browned, and four beef bullion cubes. It is delicious and I am eating it now as I write. I prefer home-made vs. canned because the canned versions add unnecessary seasonings and the lentils are often too soggy. This bowl, the lentils are not quite soft enough because anticipation got to me and I did not want to wait.
Last night I brought my pastels inside. Bad move. It almost took longer to clean up all the dust then it did to do this picture. The background trees look too green but the paper was blue. I ran out of tan which would have been perfect. I guess I will try it again with white paper and slightly different composition. All that lovely snow up north and Florida is just plain cold. I heard on the news that this is the coldest winter on record. I'm not surprised!
