I accept that some people do not believe in God or a Supreme Being. Most believers experience moments of doubt, and the journey from doubt to non-belief is just a few steps away.
I am really perplexed by people who don't believe that good and evil exist. The first assumption they make is that the concepts of good and evil originate from religious values and beliefs. Religious values may define virtue and sin, but good and evil are moral values. Some of the earliest philosophical discussions about good and evil include Plato and Aristotle, neither of which was a religious man let alone a monotheist.
Do good and evil exist? When I see love, generosity and compassion, I know goodness exists. When I see hatred and malice and the horrific things some people do to each other, I know that evil exists. One does not have to define evil as sin to acknowledge its existence.
