Qvc to the Rescue!

I found a bedroom set to replace the one with the burnt spread at a great price- $47.00 for the comlete bedding set including bedskirt, quilted spread, pillow shams and small decorative pillows, a set of 400 threads per inch Egyptian cotton matching sheets w/ four pillow cases- and two sets of drapes! The only problem is it does not pick up the wine/ burgundy in the walls, but the browns are warm enough to make do. (The set my temporary roommate ruined matched exactly.) This set is a lovely satiny jacquard. There is a bit of green on the walls but it does not show well with the flash picture. We have a QVC Outlet store in town and I got this 70% off the original sales price. I could have paid $70 more for a set that picked up the burgundy color too, but $119 right before Christmas is more than I am willing to pay.

I put red circles on the place on the wall where it looks like something exploded and on the residue of stains in the carpet that nothing will take out. I guess I circled it because unless I direct the eye right to it, these stains are barely noticable. My antiques took a beating too. Oh well. At least that room got a really good cleaning and it looks presentable again.

I went shopping with a friend today so I got little done. I have so much stuff to mail! I still have no Christmas decorations up, but that will happen soon... maybe tomorrow.

I'm pretty pleased with myself. Now I am trying to find a set I like for my bedroom. I have had the same set for 15 years.

Too bad about the colors, but it truly is a beautiful set. The fabric feels sumptuous.

I didn't know QVC had outlet stores. We saw a marked down bedding set that I'd like to have because it isn't as slinky as the last marked down set we bought, but we haven't gotten our use out of the previous one yet.

So, buy the set you really like and store it until you are ready to use it.

I think it looks nice and it is hard to believe it was such a bargain.
Glad you are rid of such pond scum.
