Bahama Market

I certainly did not help matters by putting that pot in front to fill the dead space! I think the only thing to do is repaint the foreground. Maybe just the sparrows and leave the darn pot out? As I said, the composition is off, but I did not see that until I had 3/4 painted. Oh well, I enjoyed painting this.

Ted came in and looked and said, "Damn she's good". I don't think a painting
has to say anything but this one evokes a happy and carefree spirit in me.

Thanks! I tried to keep the colors bright and cheerful.

I love it...the colors are amazing and I adore the Bahamas. The people are so sweet. I cherish the memory of a pretty black woman who insisted that
I have a special bracelet because Ted shopped so much at her booth.

I kept the market in the background, but I was taken by the men sitting there just talking, laughing and watching the tourists. I shopped a little this time around- but very little. Spent under $20.

I love the colors. I'm not sure what you're trying to say, however. Perhaps nothing. You usually have a story behind the painting. Are you selling (or trying to sell) any of your art work? I'm interested.

Of course, I try to sell, but sales are few and far between- but I have not done a single show in nearly three years. It is difficult to sell without doing shows. There is no meaning here- just a couple of guys watching tourists shop and sitting back enjoying themselves.

Since you called attention to the pot, I'm sitting here laughing. My first impression is that I absolutely love the picture, and it seems like a long time since we've had one of your pictures. But then I read about the pot, and it does look a little 'the cheese stands alone.'
