I watched something on TV about this awhile back...they were showing clips and pictures from the "good old days". It was in a documentary form with different people being featured and offering comments. It was interesting to watch, nostalgic fun to see again, but sad at the same time because it discussed the same thing that you posted here. I remember visiting Tin Pan Alley, finding the greatest little store tucked in there that sold nothing but theater-related memorabilia and souvenirs. Darn, now that I think of it, that's where I bought a key ring that was made with a laminated ticket from A Chorus Line! (I gave it to a friend for a gift.)

It would take somebody like Mel Brooks to do something like this. How funny!

Aww, c'mon, there ain't nuthin' wrong wid da freeway system in Boston! So what if drivers break out in a sweat, have white knuckles, feel their hearts in their throats, and clench their teeth so hard they crack when driving? And, that's just on a quiet Sunday afternoon drive! (The rest of the week is even better!)

I'm definitely trying it! This sound very easy and quick to make...my kind of recipe!

A crocheted outfit...could be the next up-and-coming style?

The women and the wii...it's good to see that sort of thing. I'm all for active participation in a fun way for the elderly...I wish they'd introduce something like that at the elderly complex my parents live in.

Sorry to hear this, AJ...I think you would have been perfect for the job. It was your first time around, though, and that is always a factor, plus the fact that there were so many in the running. Don't give up, my friend, because you have so much to offer and the ability to do deliver. (Look at how many elected officials failed their first time around... and, from the look of things, you really didn't do all that bad in the numbers.)

I always enjoy reading your posts, even when you say you have nothing much to write about. This post, for instance, was enjoyable because it was as casual as if I was hearing you chit-chat about things on the phone.

Oh, you already know that I think this is a must-see! It may also be a must-have...oh, it's definitely a must-have for you!

Dang! I just read this and now I'm holding my jaw and cringing in imaginary-but-I-can-feel-it pain! You poor thing! I hope your tooth is all filled again and you are no longer seeing stars when you eat or making all kinds of unexplainable sounds.

Cute and fun. I enjoyed the post and the beautiful picture of your cats.

Gee, I would love to be there seeing that right now! Things are getting chillier and chillier by the minute so, of course, there are less and less boats in the water every day. Ohhhh, you lucky devil!

I remember reading this over at the other site when you posted it, but held off on commenting there (as you have requested). I was very interested in what I read because I know he has been doing a great job and is having success with his acting besides just his run with Harry Potter. He's very talented, is attractive enough to draw an audience, and does need to continue proving that he isn't just Harry Potter, which can be a tough challenge.

You know, I have read this (and am commenting on it) a whole heck of a lot later than you wrote it, but I am as pleased as punch with what I have read! You have made some strong decisions that may seem selfish, but they are justifiably so, for they take care of you, your primary concerns, and your family...without hurting or taking advantage of anyone else. That is not being selfish...it's being rational.

I applaud you for not taking the child support, for it again shows responsibility, ability, and unselfish ways. However, did you ever think that money might be needed down the road and, even though your ex would be responsible for it and would be willing to do his share, things do sometimes happen and, when the time comes, he might be less financially able and then there might be a problem. I'm not saying you should take the money...but maybe a savings account or a trust fund or something like that could be set up in the children's names. Instead of taking any money or there having to be any set amounts, maybe your ex (and even you or others) could just make some cash deposits in those accounts...sort of "child support in reserve". Then, if an emergency should arise, if something should put your ex in a different situation and/or you in a different situation...without everybody having to scramble to find a way to cover the support/expenses of the children, there would already be a fund there that you can draw from. If, for some reason, none (or not all) of the money is ever taken or used by the time the children grow, you and your ex can either decide on returning the money to him, dividing the money between the two of you, dividing it among the children, or...if it's set up as separate accounts for each child, let the accounts turn over to them so that they have a nice start for their adult years or to use for education, relocation, marriage, a car, toward a home, investments, or keeping it in the bank. (I'm just a nervous Nelly at times and always try to be prepared for changes that might not seem apparant but can be possible. It's like "saving for a rainy day")

Those are eye-opening statistics! You might think that the seniors could RULE that state, actually take it over and run it! And, with the elder population growing everywhere as rapidly as it is, you would think that the elder population could have a much more powerful influence on things. It might be a good idea to find out just how all these people really feel about all kinds of issues because, as a unified force, they could make a tremendous difference in a lot of things.

I always try to be open-minded, tolerant, and accepting toward anyone using any kind of coupons, discount passes, or anything that comes from some kind of an assistance program and I, too, have little or no tolerance for anyone who makes a judgement call or offers some offensive remark toward anyone using such items or appearing to be different in some way. Too often I see and hear of those "more fortunate" chewing down prices, taking advantage of a situation when they can more for less, cutting corners on things to save money and defy laws, charging off things to a business that are not business-related, etc. Yet, it's these people who generally are the ones who openly criticize and insult the less fortunate. Just like all those who do not use WIC, food stamps, or other helpful things do not like to be "lumped in" with the greedy rich, those less fortunate do not like to be "lumped in" with the lazy give-me-a-handout population. There are cheaters on both ends of the spectrum (and in between), so it isn't fair to stereotype anyone in any situation. (I do find that those who are quickest to criticise are usually guilty of some level of advantage-taking or cheating themselves.)
