All over the Place

Last Sunday, got together with 3 other people for coffee/tea at Tim's Six were invited, but one was sick, one was working, one was.. something. And one brought a friend to make 4 of us. Two current employees of the library (me & T), one bitter former employee (G), and one customer (Al) that spent large amounts of time at the library studying, and wormed his way into friendship with most of the employees at the time (not me - I didn't work there at the time).

It was nice, other than me being on time, and everyone else being 20 minutes late. I thought I had been stood up! It was good, T and I really like each other, and she brought along Dr. Al (the customer), who some of the other staff find creepy. I don't understand that. He was at the library to study - for hours almost every day. He's a doctor and is now practicing in a local small town. The bitter G, who quit in dramatic fashion has found a new job as school librarian and is now much happier. You don't care about this stuff, I'm rambling...

This week so far has been better than the last. Had a truly horrible Sunday, ending with yelling at DH. He's now acting better towards me again. DD hasn't had any fits this past week. DS has be reasonably good. Work however... lots of drama, but I'm not involved, so I just keep my distance.

I had a good day at work today. The acting director (who is stressed out and causing much of the drama) gave me a new project. I took over the newsletter at the beginning of the year, and now I've also taken over the emailing of the newsletter to customers. Sent an email to 1,376 people today! Fun stuff! No really, I'm a geek, it was fun! Did all sorts of fun computer stuff to get those email addresses, adding and removing from that list, set up a new email account to send it from, and sent it off. :)

Starting Friday, the kids are off school for 10 days. Yuck. Friday, DH took the day off, and he is going to drop the kids with his mom while he does some stuff, leaving me with the day off! Yeah! I'm going to the gym to run on the treadmill and go to a pilates class. Then maybe I'll swim and sit in the hot tub, then go shopping, or just go to the library and spend some quality time with my computer and high speed wifi.

Saturday I don't work, so I'm thinking the 4 of us snowshoeing in a park in the city, then spending the gift certifs I have for Swiss Chalet for supper. Sunday... I don't know. Monday, a holiday in Alberta "Family Day" there is pond ice skating, hay rides, hot choco, etc in the hamlet the kid's school is in, Tuesday, time at the library then swimming or the movie "Gomemio and Juliet" (however you spell that...got free movie tickets from cereal boxes), Wednesday I work, so my dad is going to babysit in the morning (!! his first time !!) until my mom gets home from work, Thursday/Friday will be another library trip plus movie/swimming which ever we didn't do, and playdate... Saturday I work... Almost filled all the days.

Watched the movie The Lovely Bones at home. I had watched it in the theatre, and it was BEAUTIFUL. The imagines of the in-between are amazing. But on the small screen, it really lost the beauty because you just can't see the details.

Also watched My Sister's Keeper. Ugh, another crying movie! As in I'm crying through it. I read the book, but never saw the movie before. The movie lost a lot of the legal drama, but it was still pretty good.

Next up, I'm going to watch Breakfast at Tiffany's. I keep hearing/reading references to the movie, or to Holly Golightly, and it's bugging me that I don't know what the movie is about or who this Holly person is. I also have The Piano. I've seen it before when it first came out, and I've been thinking I need to watch it again.

Good synopsis of what's happening to "Bob". I've seen "B at T's" twice--once long ago, then more recently as a refresher. I found Audrey's character to be irritating--too flighty (hence, her name, Holly Golightly). And her boyfirend was too passive. I just don't like movies, I admit.

Breakfast at Tiffany's is a fabulous movie! I loved it and Audrey Hepburn.
What is the ten day school holiday in honour of? I have to wait until late March (Spring Break) to get a break from chauffeuring kids around and it's only for one week.

The 10 days off (actually, it's 5 days off not counting the stat
holiday and weekends), is for various things - professional learning
and teacher's conventions. Then they get another week at Easter.
