Saturday morning, I'm distracted by another co-worker in her car, and get out of my car, and lock the keys in the car while it's running. DUH!

I stand there in shock, and she comes over and asks what's wrong. At least I still had my purse, cellphone and keys to work. I phoned AMA, and they came and rescued me within 30 minutes. Yeah AMA! It's the first time I've used them in something like 15 years that I've had it.

I have spare keys for everything, except this car. It has a chip in the key and another key cost something like $60, so I didn't get one. Well, now I'm going to get one - hopefully I can just get a normal key, although it won't start the engine without the chip, it will open the door.

Today, I skipped an exercise class that I could have gone to, and steam cleaned most of the carpets in the house. It took me an hour just to get all the crap off DS's floor! Clothes, toys, books, garbage. Between picking stuff up, vacuuming, then steam cleaning, it took me 4 hours to do 3 bedrooms, the hallway and the stairs. At least it's done and I can scratch that off the to-do list! Later this week, I steam clean the van! Yeah, so much fun! (not).

On Sunday, I went out for "coffee" with two current co-workers, and two former co-workers. The former ones quit dramatically and one had to fight for EI benefits. She had a lot of bad things to say about the director. Some of it I agree with, and have seen or experienced myself, and some was new to me, and perhaps needs to be taken with a grain of salt. Like the director has come in to work drunk! And is never at work and is always leaving early or not coming in (which I have witnessed). It's eye opening. I haven't had problems with her, but I do notice that there are problems there. It looks like the board is going to be changing, so there may be changes at work too.

I'm tired of working there. I'm thinking of asking to drop one of my nights, just to give me a little more time at home. I might wait until spring though. And truly, if the bosses gave me any of the crap the former co-workers said they got, I'd quit on the spot. Or, if I take the lesson learned by them, file a grievence and get something done about it!

Halloween was good. DS was Darth Vader. It was easy since that is what he was last year. DD wanted to be Trixie the Halloween Fairy (it's a book). Trixie wears an orange dress, with orange & black tights, black shoes, belt, headband, orange wings, star necklace, orange wings and has a wand. EEK! She had the shoes, I had a star I made into a necklace. I couldn't find orange wings, so she was okay with red wings. I sewed an orange dress and black velvet belt. I bought a black headband and actually found black & orange tights at one of those pop-up halloween stores!

I bought the orange & black tights for myself too, and wore them to work with a black dress & witches' hat! Why not? Wore it trick or treating too! It's fun to dress up. And DD loved that we had matching tights.
