Yeah, I don't blog much anymore. Maybe this week I can finally slow down a bit and have more time for things like the internet.
On Nov. 11, Remembrance Day in Canada, we headed out to Dinosaur Provincial Park "the Badlands". It was a beautiful day, no wind, just above freezing and sunny. There were just a few other people around, so we almost had the place to ourselves. It's a World Heritage Site - lots of dinosaur bones found there. Pictures are on my other blog.
I'm struggling with animals. One hamster appears to be dying, very, very slowly. One pony cannot eat the hay I have unless it is soaked - difficult to do when it's getting very cold here. She's "allergic" to it, or the dust/mold, so I have to keep her separate from the others and feed her the more expensive hay. I took down the fence blocking off the back of the pasture, giving them more (dead) grass to graze, and my old horse was so excited that she galloped around, and when she stopped, she hurt something. Probably her hip. She's sore, but doing okay. And then, her eye got swollen. The eye that cost me $2000 to heal about 9 years ago. I always keep eye ointment on hand for it, and it looks like it will be okay, fingers crossed.
I've been enjoying this long Indian summer, but it ends tonight. I spent the day preparing for the winter storm expected to start tonight. I hate these storms. I'm probably skipping exercise class tomorrow because I don't drive in snow unless I really need to. I can always exercise with the Wii.
I've been trying to keep up with running, but this might be the week that I give up. I've just started to get pain in the back of one knee when I run, so it really should be rested, plus I don't want to run in the snow and cold that is coming. I do want to run, but then again I don't. It feels so good, mentally and physically. But I've never had knee pain before and it scares me.
I went to Value Village today, half price day. OMG! I'm not sure it was worth it. To save $7.50, I stood in line for 30 minutes. After waiting 15 minutes in one line that just wasn't moving, I went and found another line, that was much, much shorter. Huh? Should have moved sooner. Got pants for DS (which fit, and he loves - he's picky with clothes), and a hooded rain type jacket for me (for outdoor dirty acreage/horse chores since my other jacket is nearly in shreds).
Well, that's it for now.
I hope all of your animals are on the mend.
I had to miss the 50% off day at Value Village (I wish we lived in the same province...we could have gone together!) because there was NO way Julian could have handled it.
